Highland Piping and Drumming![]() There's nothing quite like the glorious sounds of "Scotland the Brave" or "Amazing Grace" as heard on the Great Highland Bagpipe, skirling over the field far and wide at the Kansas City Scottish Highland Games. On Friday evening and throughout Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday afternoon, you will hear pipe bands perform. You won’t want to miss pipers and drummers leading the Parade of Tartans around the Games field at noon on Saturday, followed by a performance of combined bands of over 60 pipers and drummers. A massed band will also play at midday on Sunday. Pipers and drummers will be available during the day to explain the Great Highland Bagpipes, the snare or ‘side’ drum, the tenor ‘flourishing’ drum, and the bass drum. Feel free to approach them between performances, either on the field or at their bands' tents. Pipes & Drums ScheduleFriday, June 13, 2008
