| From our Vendor Chair |
| Dear Vendor, Hello! My name is Steve Grant and I am the Vendor Chair for the Kansas City Scottish Highland Games. As the Vendor Chair, I hope to make your experience in Kansas City a good one that will bring you back year after year. This will be our 5th year at E.H. Young Park in Riverside, Missouri. We love this location and have received very complimentary feedback from vendors. It's a new park close to major highways, the casinos and only 5 miles north of downtown Kansas City. Alongside the Missouri river, the park boasts ample flat ground, parking, shelters, an entertainment amphitheater and lots of trees, which means shade! Again, for 2010 we will have a 3 day event. With many of the same activities that we have had from years past including expanded Athletics competition, the Kirkin of the Tartan, British Car Show, tea tasting, fly fishing lessons for the kids, Bonny Knees contests, Fire engine display, Birds of Prey display, Harp lessons and much more. Although it is not possible for me to enforce vendor participation all weekend long, it is STRONGLY encouraged. Folks that come only for evening or Sunday activities really want vendors there! They are ready and willing to spend their money, so don't disappoint them by going home early! Vendors wanting to stay overnight in their vehicles will be allowed to do so in the lot immediately to the east of the vending area. Note - there is no water, electricity or washroom facilities available for overnight use, so your accommodations must be "self-contained". Please keep in mind that our current facilities only allow for up to 30 vendors. Therefore, it is extremely important to submit your completed registration form, vendor fee payment and your company's proof of liability insurance no later than April 15, 2010. If you require "Single Event" liability coverage to meet this requirement, please let me know as soon as possible. Currently, there is a list of 100+ vendors eager to participate in our Games that will be receiving this letter; however preferential treatment will be given to vendors who submit their payment and registration early and have supported us in the past. There is other opportunity for you to reach your target market, whether you plan to attend the Games as a vendor or not, is to advertise in the program that is handed out to every Games attendee. Please contact us at advertising@kcscottishgames.org if you would like to inquire about advertising prices. Lastly, I have done things a little differently this year and have included a Schedule to outline the important dates and times as they pertain to you, the merchandise vendors. Please keep this schedule handy at all times throughout the weekend as set up and tear down times will be strictly adhered to. I hope to hear from you soon and appreciate your interest in the Kansas City Scottish Highland Games!
