A Scottish Basket-hilt Broadsword will be awarded to the best sword dance of the day. The First place sword dance finalist from each Premier age group will qualify to dance in the Challenge (Sword Dance). Beginning with the inception of this Award (1996), a dancer can only receive the award twice. *The competition will be held outside -- dancers and spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets Competition Events — Saturday, June 14, 2008

Pre-Premier Dancers: Medals will be awarded to three places. There will be no Class Trophy awarded in the Primary Class. Class trophies will be based on all dances. A Pre-Premier Grand Aggregate trophy will be presented. For a group to qualify for this award, there must be six dancers registered in the group.
Premier Cash Awards: Class winner from each age will dance off for "Dancer of the Day", dance to be chosen by judges.
